Question: How do I keep the Google slap from making opt-in pages devoid of traffic? How did you respond to the Google slap?

Answer: The Google slap never affected me so I didn't have to do much about it.

Here's how to avoid getting the Google slap from zapping traffic to your opt-in page from Google AdWords. What you are really talking about is Google AdWords. There is a reason why I suggest doing press releases and articles in addition to getting traffic from Google AdWords. The press releases and articles build up your quality score.

Your quality score is not only based upon what is on your website. The quality score is also based upon what is pointing to your web site. For example, the links that point to your website affect your quality score. If you have a lot of links pointing to your website then you shouldn't have any problems with Google.

This is a new sign up page on my website. Understand that this is a new page and doesn't have links going to it. So we had to work with it a little differently. We are currently testing it and it still hasn't beaten my ugly, word only website. This pretty site cost me $7,000.

We have links that are somewhat hidden. If you scroll down you will find Free sign up and Business Solutions, About US, and Contact. So there are links to one-off pages on there. The reason we do that is so that we don't get slapped by Google for just having a squeeze page. These one-off links are not prominently displayed so the customer won't be distracted by them. And at the same time Google will be happy with how we set up the squeeze page.

If people do go click on those one-off links I make sure that they go to a page that offers them something to purchase.

Analyze promotingtips, but don't take it for granted. I don't know what the conversion rate is on it yet. We are still trying to make it better by tweaking it and testing it.

I'm going to have the guy that runs my Google AdWords come to my Marketing Madness seminar. We are going to have a customer appreciation event at the Marketing Madness in December. So if you haven't been to a Marketing Madness event, or want to come again, start thinking about getting ready to attend this event.

In December, we also doing an event called Geter Done during the Monday of the customer appreciation week. Basically, you ask me questions and we take action together. You can use it to learn new information or it can act as a refresher.
