Many people consider riding motorcycles to be somewhat dangerous. Something about riding at a high speed on an open vehicle just seems hazardous or unsafe to some people, regardless of whether or not riders are wearing protective gear like helmets and thick, leather clothing.

But, for many bikers, the act of riding motorcycles does not feel dangerous at all. For some riders, just riding their bikes doesn't provide any sense of risk or adventure, certainly not the same level of excitement they felt when they first began riding, at least.

Some of these bikers turn to motorcycle jump games to bring a sense of danger and excitement back into their motorcycle riding. Motorcycle jump games can give a rider a bit of a buzz or a thrill, when done safely and accurately, of course.

Motorcycle jump games are generally an off-of-the-beaten-path type of sport. Interested people have to find an unused field or other large, grassy area where they can put up ramps and ride their motorcycles without being disturbed. This is often one of the most challenging issues of the sport, many people do not know where to find a place in which they can practice their motorcycle jump games. Talking with other bikers can sometimes help a person find a good location.

After a location has been found, participants need to get ramps. Starting small is the name of the game with motorcycle jump games. No beginner is ready for large, high ramps right at the start, no matter how confident he is. Ramps with small inclines are best. These will provide small, short jumps that will enable a person to get used to the sensation of jumping and to practice landing.

Once a person has reasonably good landing skills from practicing the smallest ramps, slightly larger ramps should be made. And yes, ramps of all types need to be made for motorcycle jump games; it isn't likely that a person is going to be able to purchase the needed ramps at any store. Besides, by making the ramps, a jumper can build them to the exact specifications he needs.

Anyone with carpentry skills and a basic knowledge of geometry should be able to build adequate ramps. If the person involved in the motorcycle jump games is not good at woodworking, perhaps he can get a friend or relative to help.

It is best if anyone interested in motorcycle jump games can find a veteran jumper to help guide him in the proper jumping techniques. But, if that isn't possible (which, in many cases, it isn't), interested people should do some reading on the internet about the sport.

It is important to remember that power is what carries the motorcycle over the ramp, without enough power, the bike will not climb the ramp, jump, and land comfortably. But, people trying motorcycle jump games also need to realize that too much power is not a good thing, too much power can cause a bike to fly up a ramp and land badly. Understanding the balance of power necessary for each particular ramp is key.
